My hair is dyed burgundy if I dye it with Semi-permanent purple paint will it stick??

I dyed my hair black first then I waited like 6 months so black would fall out, I tried to dye burgundy but the dye didnt dtick to all my hair so i redyed it darker burgundy but I dont like how it looks my mom wont let me dye my hair with permanent paint for at least a month. So i bought this purple paint at Hot topic and its semi permanent will it work on my hair???? pLease help I look really strange
