Fallout 3 lost dogmeat?

ok i just got point lookout and just found dogmeat so since i didnt want him to die just like butch died i told him to go wait for me at vault 101 and i just finished point lookout today and he is not at the vault. i also checked my house at megaton and he is not there. can anyone help ps i use a computor
