My stepmom is mad at me?

Last night we had company over. It was some of my stepmom's friends. I came in the livingroom to ask my dad something. One of her friends said that I probably have a lot of girlfriends. Then I told them that I don't have a girlfriend. Then they all asked me why I didn't have a girlfriend. And then I told them that the reason I don't have a girlfriend is because I don't know how to be a jerk. I'm way too nice to have a girlfriend. And then them and their husbands just paused. My stepmom gave me "the look". So later when they all left, my stepmom cussed me out. My dad always takes up for my stepmom; go figure! So I'm a teenager, and I'm wondering why I got in trouble. What is the big freaking deal? What did I do wrong? I need an Atheist's advice. I'm a Christian, but Christians like me have low I.Q.s. lol. I need smart people to answer. God Bless
