"Papal apology is too little, too late" can some explain to me the contention of this letter?
I'm not an expert on this subject, but I'll give you my viewpoint. The Papacy regularly comes out with letters such as this descrying abuses within the church, but they really are just meaningless words. Nothing is ever really done about it. A priest may occasionally be forced to resign (or whatever the word is that they use for that) - but for the most part, like I said, nothing is done about it really. Such abuse(s) will continue to happen - which in fact really surprises me - since priests are supposed to have high moral standards (at least that's what I thought until all these scandals have come to light).
